Registry-style ceremonies by civil celebrants, not a government registry office. No fuss, no frills, no wedding. Just paperwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plain answers about the paperwork-only service.

What do you actually do?

We provide a paperwork-only, registry-style marriage service. It is the simple legal part of getting married, without the full wedding ceremony.

Are you a government registry?

No. We are private authorised celebrants. We are not the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages and we are not a government office.

How do we get started?

Click Get Married, fill out the booking form, and pay the fee. Then prepare your Notice of Intended Marriage and send the paperwork through.

When is our date confirmed?

Your date, time and place are confirmed after we receive the paperwork and check our availability. Paying the fee starts the process, but it does not guarantee a date on its own.

How much notice do we need?

Usually, you need to give a Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the marriage date, and no more than 18 months before it.

Can you help with the NOIM?

Yes. We can help you understand the form, and NOIM Easy is a great way to complete it step by step.

Can we get married online?

No. In Australia, the couple, the celebrant, and the two witnesses must all be physically present for the marriage.

Do we need witnesses?

Yes. You need two witnesses aged 18 or over. If you do not have witnesses, ask about our witness service.

What ID do we need?

You need proof of identity, proof of date and place of birth, and proof that any previous marriage has ended if that applies to either of you.

Can one of us be overseas when we do the paperwork?

Sometimes, yes. The NOIM can be prepared and witnessed from overseas if it is done correctly. Talk to us early so we can explain what is needed.

Do you do weddings or elopements?

Not on this site. We do the simple legal marriage only. For an elopement use Elopement Collective. For a full ceremony use Josh Withers.

When do we get our marriage certificate?

You receive the ceremonial certificate on the day. The official certificate is ordered separately through NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages.
